Jakes Rocks Overlook

& Mountain Bike 

Trail

Located off the Longhouse National Scenic Byway in the Allegheny National Forest (just past the Kinzua Dam), the Trails at Jakes Rocks is 30+ miles of expertly designed mountain biking trail loop winding through expansive ANF and large boulders.

Rocky Gap

ATV Trails

Rocky Gap is an ATV trail; however, mountain biking is allowed. The southern loop is 10+ miles with some challenging climbs.  There are also oil lease roads, snowmobile trails, and hiking trails that link up along the loop, so if you have the proper map/GPS, you can traverse beyond the usual trails.

Rim Rock Overlook

This 1.3-mile trail offers a scenic 1 - 1 1/2 hour hike from Kinzua Beach to Rimrock Overlook with outstanding, panoramic views of the Allegheny Reservoir and surrounding hillsides.

Trails at Hearts Content Recreation Area

Hearts Content National Scenic Area is a 122-acre tract of old-growth forest in Warren County, northwestern Pennsylvania. It is home to white pine trees as old as 300-400 years. Hearts Content is designated as a National Natural Landmark. Hike along one of the many trails -- Tanbark, Tom's Run & Ironwood Loop.

Trails at Chapman Dam State Park

The 862-acre Chapman State Park includes the 68-acre Chapman Lake on the West Branch of Tionesta Creek. Adjacent to state game lands and Allegheny National Forest, Chapman is an oasis of recreational facilities in a vast wilderness area. Features 12 miles of trails.

Bent Run

Waterfall Trail

Bent Run Waterfall is a 2.9-mile out-and-back trail just past Kinzua Dam on Route 59 in the Allegheny National Forest. Bent Run is a short hike, full of nooks and crannies. The trail follows the stream up roughly 300' with waterfalls flowing over large rock formations.

Morrison Trail Loop

An 11.4-mile loop trail. The eastern side is the Morrison Trail Loop, and the western side is the Rimrock Trail Loop. Day hikers can complete either portion of the trail in one day. Pass through open hardwoods and large rock formations; the ground cover is thick with strands of mountain laurel. The trailhead parking lot is located along PA 59, 17 miles west of the City of Bradford. The difficulty level is moderate to difficult.

Minister Creek Scenic Overlook

Minister Creek Trail is a 6.5 mile loop trail located near Sheffield, Pennsylvania, that features a river and is rated as moderate. The trail offers a good mix of elevation with beautiful scenery.

With 86.6 miles of recreational use, the National Wild & Scenic Allegheny River flows through forest valleys, wilderness islands, and rural landscapes. Hugging the Allegheny National Forest's edge, most river paddlers start their river adventure by the Kinzua Dam. Named Pennsylvania's 2017 River of the Year, the Allegheny River, takes you along one of the most biologically diverse watersheds in Pennsylvania, rich in scenic beauty and historical significance.
